A stand mixer (10) is provided with wheels (5) proximate the base. The base (18) houses a mixing bowl (20) capable of being placed into a locked positio n. When the mixing bowl (20) is in the locked position, its handle (2) faces outward. The mixer (10) can be lifted with the handle (2) to transfer the weight of the stand mixer from the feet to the wheels (5). The stand mixer c an then be moved into a desired position.
