<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a rise time after a power supply is turned on in a selected image formation mode before image formation processing becomes practicable. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is provided, which is formed in units for every function block and has a plurality of image formation modes. The image forming apparatus is equipped with a selecting part for selecting the image formation mode to be practiced, a storage part for storing the image formation mode selected by the selecting part, and a body control part which detects the image formation mode stored in the storage part as the power supply is turned on, acquires an initialization status from the function block necessary for practice of the image formation mode, judges whether or not the initialization is complete, and enables an operation of the image formation mode stored in the storage part when the initialization is judged to be complete. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
