<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knee protecting air bag device assuring a good design viewed from inside a vehicle and capable of being installed easily on the body side of an air bag assembly. <P>SOLUTION: The knee protecting air bag device is structured so that an air bag, an inflator, and an air bag cover are installed in a case 7 so as to form the air bag assembly. The upper mounting part 17 of the case 7 is fixed to the body 1 of the vehicle using a clip 21. The clip 21 is provided with an insert member 22 and a receptacle member 31. When the insert member 22 is inserted to the side with the receptacle member 31, an elastically deformable locking part 26 is deflected to generate restoration and locked with a rigid locking part 32, and thereby it is made possible to couple the case 7 with the body 1. Also in the engaged state, the elastically deformable locking part 26 is deformed elastically to release locking with the rigid locking part 32, and the insert member 22 is drawn off from the receptacle member 31, and it is possible to disengage the case 7 from the body 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
