PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit for an air conditioner capable of restricting temperature rise of a compressor installed in a freezer chamber. SOLUTION: In this outdoor unit 1 for an air conditioner, a ventilation port 14 is provided in a partition plate 5 parting the inside of a housing into a condenser chamber 8 in which a condenser fan 6 is installed and the freezer chamber 11 in which the compressor 9 is installed. With the condenser fan 6 installed in the condenser chamber 8, air in the freezer chamber 11 is discharged through the ventilation port 14 in the partition plate 5 into the condenser chamber 8. Temperature rise in the freezer chamber 11 can thus be restricted, thereby temperature rise in the compressor 9 installed in the freezer chamber 11 can also be restricted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
