PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device by which an object having an image pickup optical member and an image pickup element is photographed and an image position is created, which is adapted to be loaded on a portable unit and suitable for image pickup in an extensive scene. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a main body 100 and an image pickup unit 300 which can freely turn with respect to the main body 100, and has image pickup lenses 310 and 330 and the image pickup elements 320 and 340. The main body 100 is provided with a closeup lens 160 for performing closeup photographing in cooperation with the image pickup lenses 310 and 330 when the image pickup unit 300 is in a prescribed turning position.
