PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing related terminology explaining apparatus, a photographing related terminology explaining program, and a photographing related terminology explaining control method whereby meanings of terminologies related to photographing can easily be understood. SOLUTION: Photographing terminologies WA such as "histogram", "moire", "halation", and "spot photometry" are displayed as shown in Fig. (A), and when a user selects one of the terminologies such as "halation", an object image PB is displayed on a liquid crystal display section 9 so that the object image PB is formed on an imaging element through an optical lens, and bought into a state that present and various photographing parameters are set so as to cause the "halation" as shown in Fig. (C). When the user executes photographing, image data of the object image PB are saved in a buffer and temporarily stored therein in response thereto. Succeedingly, the explanation of a phenomenon corresponding to the designated terminology (the "halation" in this example) is detected from a terminology ROM and a symbol Y is indicated to an area wherein halation takes place of the object image PB and terminology explanation data are displayed as shown in Fig. (D).
