PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a portable terminal device by which a required menu item can be easily searched. SOLUTION: When a user inputs a keyword by using an input device 10, a retrieving device 20 retrieves menu items of the portable terminal device by using the inputted keyword. Since a menu list storage device 31 stores a list of all menu items, the retrieving device 20 detects menu items including the keyword from the list. Detected results are displayed on a display device 40 as a list. When a menu item in the retrieved results is selected, processing corresponding to the menu item is executed.
