PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent battery performance from deteriorating effectively by reducing the output current from a charging circuit and charging a plurality of secondary batteries quickly in a short time. SOLUTION: In the charger of a plurality of batteries, a series switch 31 is connected in series with a secondary battery, a plurality of sets of charging unit 33 where a parallel switch 32 is connected in parallel with the series circuit of the secondary battery 2 and the series switch 31 are connected in series, and charging state of the secondary battery 2 is controlled by switching the series switch 31 and the parallel switch 32 of the charging unit 33 on/off at a charging control section 35. The charger charges a plurality of batteries by altering the duty of switching the series switch 31 and the parallel switch 32 of the charging unit 33 on/off at a charging control section 35, switching the charging unit 33 between charging state and interrupting state at a specified duty and controlling the charging current of the secondary battery 2.
