PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small 1/4 wavelength monopole type pattern antenna easily available for wide band. SOLUTION: The pattern antenna 1 has a power feeding line 3 and a radiation conductor 4 patterned on one face of an insulating board 2, and a grounding conductor 5 patterned in a region, which does not overlap with the radiation conductor 4 on the other side of the insulating board 2. One end of the power feeding line 3 is connected to an antenna circuit 6. The other end of the power feeding line 3 is connected a base end 4a of the radiation conductor 4. The base end 4a becomes larger in width gradually from the side of power feeding line 3, while the radiation conductor 4 has its widest part at the center and becomes narrower gradually to the end thereof. The radiation conductor 4 functions as a radiation element of the monopole antenna, while the grounding conductor 5 functions as ground of the radiation conductor 4. The grounding conductor 5 has a recessed part 5a as a cut in a taper shape along the outer boundary of the base edge 4a of the radiation conductor 4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
