MANUFACTURING METHOD OF alpha-OLEFIN OLIGOMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel oligomerization method ofα-olefins which suppresses the produced amount of a high-molecular weight polymer while retaining catalyst activities. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of theα-olefin oligomers comprises oligomerizingα-olefins in the presence of the catalyst comprising a chromium compound bearing at least one chromium-pyrrolyl bond and an alkylaluminum compound and terminating the reaction in the presence of theα-olefins. The manufacturing method permits the selective acquisition of a product mainly composed of a trimer in a high yield and the suppression of the production of high-molecular weight polymers by oligomerization ofα-olefins, particularly ethylene, and is therefore industrially greatly advantageous.
