PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a polymer from an unsaturated monomer using a Lewis acid catalyst and a radical polymerization initiator, wherein recovery and reuse of the Lewis acid catalyst are facilitated without lowering the effect of the Lewis acid catalyst. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a polymer from an unsaturated monomer is conducted in a mixed solvent capable of separating into two phases and comprising full fluorine-substitution type saturated hydrocarbon (A) and a non-polymerizable compound (B), and uses a Lewis acid catalyst (C) which is soluble in the full fluorine-substitution type saturated hydrocarbon (A) and a radical polymerization initiator (D).
