PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die for forging with which a long work extended long in the axial direction can be formed. SOLUTION: In the die for forging, a second die 12 is provided with outer peripheral tapered parts 22C, 26C reducing in diameter from large diameter parts 22a, 26a at the one end part, positioned at a first die 11 side toward small diameter parts 22b, 26b at the other end part. Then, divided dies 22, 26 divided in the peripheral direction so as to be freely expanded/shrunk in the vertical direction of the axial line and rings 40 disposed at the outer peripheral side of the divided dies and having almost same inner peripheral tapered parts 28C, 30C as the outer peripheral tapered parts of the divided dies, in the inner periphery, are provided. The plurality of divided dies are continuously disposed in the axial line direction and can relatively be advanced/retreated in the axial line direction and also, the large diameter part of the other divided die abutted on the small diameter part of each divided die continuously disposed, has the larger diameter than that of the abutted small diameter part.
