PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute appropriate control by automatically obtaining information relating to a sewing component set to a sewing machine. SOLUTION: The subject device is constituted such that a characteristic storage device such as a non-contact type ID tag in a common form is mounted on the sewing component which can be freely detachably mounted on the sewing machine, such as a needle, a presser, an embroidery frame, a thread piece, an external storage medium and an embroidery device set to the sewing machine, and it is read by one reader in the state of mounting it on the sewing machine.
