<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an image acquisition device which exhibits a high portability and by which a three-dimensional picture is acquired by simple operations. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 11 transmits photography synchronization signals to another digital camera 1 through a communication part 17 according to photographing instructions which are inputted through an input 12. The photography synchronization signals are for making the other digital camera 1 perform a shooting a predetermined time later. The controller 11 controls an image pick-up part 15 for making it perform imaging in synchronization with the passage of the predetermined time. The communication part 17 receives image data obtained by another image acquisition device and supplies the controller 11 with the received image data. The controller 11 controls an image processor 18 for preparing a stereoscopic composite image from the image data obtained by the image pick-up part 15 and the image data received through the communication part 17.
