<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make both compatible for enhancing combustion performance by exactly holding swirl strength in a proper value and enhancing engine output by highly holding volumetric efficiency, even in both high speed operation and low speed operation of an engine. <P>SOLUTION: A swirl adjusting intake port 7 is positioned so as to face an intake air outer peripheral side space part 11 of an intake port 4. An automatic flow regulating valve 21 is constituted so as to increase a flow rate of swirl adjusting intake air 22 flowing in the intake air outer peripheral side space part 11 in the intake port 4 by passing through an intake air branch passage 8, by increasing its valve opening in the low speed operation of the engine, to reduction in the flow rate of the swirl adjusting intake air 22 flowing in the intake air outer peripheral side space part 11 in the intake port 4 by passing through the intake air branch passage 8 by reducing the valve opening in the high speed operation of the engine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
