PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projection system which can project manuscripts larger than the mounting surface at a time. SOLUTION: The image projection system 1 has an image pickup 24 to pick up the images of the manuscript 34 placed on the mounting surface 3, a memory 29 to store the above images, an image synthesizing means 33 for synthesizing the images stored in the memory, and a projector 32 to project the images synthesized in the image synthesizing means. It divides the manuscript into the size of the mounting surface and picks up the images as many times as required when projecting an image larger than the mounting surface. Thus, many images are stored in the memory and synthesized in the synthesizing means to project with the projector.
