PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a microcomputer in a discharge lamp device operates erroneously due to a noise generated in the device. SOLUTION: The erroneous operation is prevented by constructing so as to stop the operation of an arithmetic control circuit constructed by the microcomputer or the like by stopping the power supply to the arithmetic control circuit or turning into a sleep mode at a high voltage generating period soon after the start of the discharge lamp lighting.
