DATABASE UPDATING METHOD FOR KARAOKE MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lighten the loads of processing relating to distribution on a karaoke machine and a host device and to speedily make corrected karaoke data usable when the corrected karaoke data are re-distributed through a communication network because karaoke data include a production error. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a database updating method for the karaoke machine in which a merged data file of musical piece units composed of music sound recording data wherein karaoke accompaniment music is recorded and additional data including lyrics subtitle generation data with synchronism information for the music sound recording data is stored in a database. The karaoke machine receives an additional registration instruction for additional data to which a musical piece identifier is added and substitutes the additionally registered additional data for existent additional data in the merged data file of the musical piece in the database.
