PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method of displaying a picture on a map which enables a user to intuitively and totally grasp the relationship between a position on a map and pictures seen from the position. SOLUTION: In method of displaying the picture on the map, the pictures corresponding to the position on an electronic map are displayed. Therein, a displayed map has azimuthal information, and one or more sheets of the pictures corresponding to the position on the map has each also azimuthal information. When designating the position on the map and displaying the picture, one or more pictures are displayed in conformity with the azimuthal information of the pictures around the designated position.
