PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic atomizer capable of sucking up a highly viscous liquid rapidly in a feed part to atomize the same and capable of efficiently sucking up a liquid even if many kinds of liquids different in viscosity are respectively used. SOLUTION: The electrostatic atomizer has the feed part 2 for feeding the liquid from a liquid sump part 1, a counter electrode 3 arranged so as to be opposed to the feed direction of the liquid due to the feed part 2, a liquid applying electrode 4 for applying voltage to the liquid in the route reaching the leading end on the side of the counter electrode 3 of the feed part 2 from the liquid sump part 1 and a voltage applying part 6 for applying high voltage across the liquid applying electrode 4 and the counter electrode 3. An almost linear sucking-up route 5 comprising a cavity part reaching the upper part from the lower part of this router is formed in the feed part 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
