<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for preventing and treating diabetes and a food/drink for dietary use, each having high α-glucosidase inhibitory activity, suppressing the increase in blood glucose level caused by sucrose absorption, safe to living body, and takable daily. <P>SOLUTION: An α-glucosidase inhibitor comprising a hydrangea extract is provided.
