PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and simple method for classifying B-lymphocytes. SOLUTION: (1) A blood sample is mixed with a reagent containing ammonium chloride to dissolve an erythrocyte, and the B-lymphocyte in the blood sample is contracted to a degree allowing discrimination from other lymphocytes to prepare a measuring sample, (2) the measuring sample is made to flow in a flow cell of a flow site meter, (3) a cell in the measuring sample flowing in the flow cell is irradiated with light, (4) at least two scattered lights emitted from the irradiated cell are detected, (5) a two dimensional distribution diagram is prepared based on the detected scattered lights, (6) an area of a B-lymphocyte population is specified on the prepared two dimensional distribution diagram, and (7) the B-lymphocytes are counted within the specified area.
