PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding wheel holding device for easily and quickly installing or exchanging a grinding wheel, which is used for a gear finishing device using a finishing grinding wheel of internal tooth profile. SOLUTION: The grinding wheel holding device comprises: a head frame 21 having an opening part for holding the finishing grinding wheels at the center thereof; and an annular grinding wheel holding part 22 to which the finishing grinding wheels A1, A2 are installed in its inner peripheral part, and which is supported and rotated in the opening part of the head frame 21. The grinding wheel holding part further has: a gear 50 for rotating the grinding wheels, which is provided with an opening part for inserting the grinding wheels therein and receiving part for fixing the grinding wheels; an annular moving body which can slide in an axial direction of the gear 50 in the opening part for inserting the grinding wheels therein; a projecting part 27 made to abut with the grinding wheels to function as a stopper; a pressing collar which is inserted along an inner peripheral face of the moving body and made to abut with end faces the finishing grinding wheels to fix the end faces by sliding of the moving body on a finishing grinding wheel side; and an actuator for driving the moving body on a receiving part side.
