PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face identification device which can constantly exhibit stable identification performance. SOLUTION: The face identification device which photographs the face image of a person to be identified with a camera and identifies whether the person thus photographed is the person himself by collating the face image thus obtained with dictionary information. In this case, the face identification is carried out after the lens center point (a visual field angle center point) of the camera is arranged at the characteristic point of the face of the person to be identified.
