PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact for an IC socket which ensures elasticity of a contact arm, stability in a housing and flexibility of a solder tail section while suppressing the inductance small. SOLUTION: In the contact for the IC socket including a contact arm which comes in contact with the contact of an IC package, a fixing section fixed to the housing on which the IC package is mounted and a solder tail soldered to a board on which the housing is mounted, the contact arm and the solder tail are continued vertically, and the fixing section is folded back by 180°toward a back face side from a side wall in a mid portion between the contact arm and the solder tail to extend vertically.
