PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image reader having an A/D conversion circuit corresponding to a plurality of resolutions by using an analog low pass filter which does not require a steep frequency characteristic. SOLUTION: The radiation image reader is provided with the analog low pass filter 20 removing the aliasing component of an analog image signal, an A/D converter 30 converting an output signal from the analog low pass filter into a digital image signal by an oversampling system, an oversampling scale factor setting part 61 setting an oversampling scale factor based on a designation signal of a reading sampling frequency f<SB>s</SB>corresponding to the resolution requested at the time of an image processing, and an A/D conversion clock selector 62 outputting a clock signal corresponding to the oversampling frequency based on the oversampling scale factor (n) which is set and the reading sampling frequency f<SB>s</SB>to the A/D converter 30.
