In a folding door in which adjacent panels 13, 14 are connected to each other by flexible hinge strips 18, alternate panels such as 14 are suspended from an overhead track and the inbetween panels, e.g. 13 are connected to and supported by rigid hinges at the top and bottom of the panels. Each hinge comprises a channel shaped member 25 having flanges 26, 27 integral with the central web portion 40 which overlies a portion of each of the adjacent panels 13, 14, the flange 27 being received in a transverse slot 28, 29 in the panels 13, 14 respectively and the flange 26 projecting over the adjacent ends of the panels, and pins 32, 33 extending through holes 34, 35, through liner sleeves 30, 31, located in the grooves 22, 23 of the panels 13, 14, through apertures in the lower flange 27 and into an end portion of the marginal formations of the hinge strip 18, the end threaded portions of the pins 32, 33, serving to expand the marginal portions of the strip 18 into tight gripping engagement with the grooves 22, 23. |
