PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a star roller to be used for a paper feed mechanism or the like of an ink jet printer which is capable of reducing the manufacturing cost of the star roller, reducing the thickness in the axial direction of a contact part with paper sheets, and reducing the pitch in the circumferential direction. SOLUTION: One star wheel 12 which is formed by pressing a metal plate and has contact parts 12a radially provided at a predetermined angular pitch is integrally outserted together with a bearing part 13. A recessed and projecting structure 14 having a plurality of projecting parts 14a formed at the same predetermined angular pitch as that of the contact part 12a and a plurality of recessed parts 14b with the phase deviated by 1/2 pitch with respect to the projecting parts 14a is formed on one end part of the bearing part 13. One projecting part 14a of two star roller units 11 is inverted so as to be engaged with the other recessed part 14b, and both parts are coupled with each other to form a star roller 10.
