PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently replace air in a container with an inertia gas. SOLUTION: This inertia gas filling device is equipped with a lid opening/closing means which opens/closes a lid 4 of an ink can 2 to the container main body 3, and a caulking means is provided separately from the lid opening/closing means. A nozzle 30 is provided with an approximately disk-shape main body 32 at the distal end of an arm 31, and a plurality of discharging ports are formed on the rear surface with specified intervals in the circumferential direction. The lid 4 is held at a position with a gap c to the container main body 3 by the lid opening/closing means, and an inertia gas is radially discharged diagonally downward to the inside of the container main body 3 from a plurality of the discharging ports of the nozzle by inserting the nozzle 30 in the gap, and replaced with air. Right after the replacement, the lid 4 is fitted on the container main body by the lid opening/closing means, and the lid is sealed by caulking the lid by the caulking means.
