PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric opening/closing device of a toilet seat and a toilet lid having a reduced size and weight by forming a torque limiter mechanism constituted between the last stage of a speed reducing gear train which transmits a driving force to the toilet seat and the toilet lid, and a rotary shaft into a structure of operating at a stable torque in the electric opening/closing device for the toilet seat and the toilet lid. SOLUTION: This electric opening/closing device for the toilet seat and the toilet lid is so constituted that the last stage of the speed reducing gear train, which has a complicated shape so as not to be allowed to employ high rigidity material, or the rotary shaft is engaged with another member composed of a high-rigidity material to make a friction surface of the torque limiter mechanism into high rigidity and constitute the torque limiter mechanism operating at the stable torque.
