A method and system for processing measurements. The method comprises producing, at plural sensing stations, corresponding uncompensated output signals responsive to detected physical phenomena, and determining an error in at least one of the uncompensated output signals, based upon those uncompensated output signals. A next step includes compensating for error in at least one uncompensated output signal, based on the determined error. A compensated signal is generated, representing a value substantially equal to a quantity of a physical phenomenon subjected to detection by the sensing station that produced the signal subjected to compensation. The determined error includes at least systematic and random error components Deltasyst and Deltarand. Detections made by a sensing station producing signals not subjected to compensation preferably are separated by greater time intervals than are detections made by a sensing station producing signals subjected to compensation. |
