Hollow fan blade for aircraft engines and production method therefor

The blade has a tip section (5) assembled to a base section (2) by a joining weld (4). The base section that is made of a metal e.g. titanium, includes long cavities (7, 9) that originate at an upper abutting edge (6) of the base section. The cavities are dimensioned in accordance with loads occurring in respective blade areas. The tip section is loaded to a lesser extent and is fabricated of a welded sheet-metal structure. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a hollow fan blade for a fan of an aircraft engine.
