The present invention relates to an arrangement (10) for improving the force distributing and absorbing capacity of a vehicle in an accident. The vehicle comprising a first body structure member (31), a second body structure member (30) and an interspace (33) there between. The second body structure member (30) comprises at least one interior reinforced beam (34). The arrangement (10) being arranged to be provided in said interspace (33) and is provided with at least two protruding portions (17, 18, 19, 20) for locally reducing the interspace (33). The protruding portions (17, 18, 19, 20) is provided in the proximity of said interior beam (34) for engaging said first and second body structure members (30, 31) as the available interspace (33) decreases at an accident and in that state distributing forces from the first body structure member (31) to said interior beam (34) of the second body structure member (30). <IMAGE>
