Vehicle roof, especially a motor vehicle roof, comprises an outer shell and an inner shell (1) made of plastic foam and fixed with its outer edges on a vehicle body (3). Hollow chambers (13) provided in the inner shell are connected via lattices (8) to the vehicle interior. The lattices are made of the plastic foam material of the inner shell and are formed in one piece with openings (16) arranged a distance apart. Preferred Features: The openings are slits defined by ribs (17) formed from the plastic foam material of the inner shell. The openings are initially formed in the under side of the inner shell without breaking through and are then cut out. The visible surface of the inner shell is coated with an inside roof lining material (9) extending into the openings.
