摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deframing due to panning. SOLUTION: An angular velocity sensor 22 detects an angular velocity of a motion of a camera. Its output is fed to a signal processing circuit 28 and a panning detection circuit 40 via a DC cut-off filter 24 and an amplifier 26. The panning detection circuit 40 detects whether or not panning is made, and when the panning is detected, the circuit 40 allows the signal processing circuit 28 to vary an arithmetic coefficient for shake correction to set a compression rate of an image compression circuit 20 to a high compression rate. When not in a panning state, the signal processing circuit 28 calculates an object angle of shake from an output of the amplifier 26. An apex angle sensor 30 detects an apex angle of a variable apex angle prism 10 and its output is fed to a subtractor 34 via an amplifier 32. The subtractor 34 calculates a difference between an object angle and a current angle to allow a drive circuit 36 and an actuator 38 to shift the apex angle of a variable apex angle prism 10 up to an object angle.</p>
