Evaporator arrangement for producing a mixture of hydrocarbon and steam for hydrogen production in a reformer comprises a steam generator, a mixing chamber (14) with an inlet (16) for steam, and a hydrocarbon evaporator comprising a porous medium (24) and an associated heater (28). An independent claim is also included for a reformer system for producing hydrogen from a hydrocarbon/steam mixture, comprising an evaporator system as above.
