A heat exchanger arrangement 1 for cooling three cooling mediums or bodies comprises a first heat exchanger 9 arranged to cool a flow of a first body, a second heat exchanger 11 comprising a second heat radiating area 25 arranged to cool a flow of a second body and a third heat radiating area 27 arranged to cool a flow of a third body. The second and third bodies flow parallel to each other in their respective heat radiating areas 25,27 (figs 2b,3b,4b), and the second and third heat radiating areas 25,27 are downstream of the first heat radiating area 23 in a cooling airflow A. The second heat radiating area 25 receives air heated by the upstream side of the flow of the first body in the first heat radiating area 23, and the third heat radiating area 27 receives air heated by the downstream side of the flow of the first body in the first heat radiating area 27. In use, the difference in temperature between the first body entering and exiting the first heat radiating area 23 is greater than the difference in temperature between the second body entering and exiting the second heat radiating area 25 and greater than the difference in temperature between the third body entering and exiting the third heat radiating area 27; and the temperature of the second body flowing through the second heat radiating area 25 is higher than the temperature of the third body flowing through the third heat radiating area 26. The arrangement cools a fuel cell 3, a drive motor 5 and an air conditioning unit 7 of a vehicle. |
