ELECTROLUMINESCENT POLYMERS, BISFLUORENYLSILANES, AND ORGANIC ELECTROLUMINESCENT DEVICES

Electroluminescent polymers having repeating units of the general formula (1) are obtained by polymerizing bis- fluorenylsilanes having specific substituents. The polymers are suppressed in the deterioration of color purity of EL caused by excimer formation in spite of their being pi-Sigma conjugated fluorene polymers, and particularly, the blue light emitted therefrom has extremely high color purity. The polymers are useful as light-emitting materials for organic electro- luminescent devices.
