<p>A manipulator (9) has a transversely movable slide (13) movable on a guide rail (12), and a perpendicularly movable slide (14) movable perpendicularly to slide (13). The slide (14) has a first gripper (15) for holding a blank lens, and a second gripper (18) also movable perpendicularly on slide and independently of first gripper for holding a finished lens in a spectacle-lens edging machine. A CNC-controlled machine tool is used for form machining a spectacles lens. Determining devices determine optical values, an optical center, an axial position of a cylindrical or prismatic cut, the position of a near portion and/or a position of a progression channel of spectacle lens designed as a progressive lens, or for attaching a block or a sucker (17) in a correct position and at a correct angle. The manipulator removes blank lenses from a lens conveying device, and inserts the blank lenses into a determining device. An independent claim is also included for a method of manipulating blank lenses and finished lenses in a form machining unit.</p> |
