An information reproducing apparatus comprises: a reproducing device which reproduces program information recorded on a recording medium (2); and a control device (18) which, when a user's instruction is necessary at the time of reproducing said program information, requests the user to input the necessary instruction, waits for the instruction from the user and, controls reproducing operation of said reproducing device in response to the instruction from the user at the time of input of the instruction. The control device(18) determines whether sound information desired by the user is included in said program information or not and, when it is determined that the sound information is included in the program information, controls the reproducing operation of said reproducing device in accordance with a preset reproducing procedure without waiting for said instruction input from said user.
