A light-sensitive composition comprises a benzoquinone (1, 4)-diazide or an iminoquinone (1, 4) diazide and aminobenzene, N, N-di(methyl or ethyl) aminoazobenzene, 4-dimethylamine-4'- (methoxy or acetamine)-azobenzene, 4'-aminodiphenyl-(4"-azo-4)-naphthylamine(1), 1-naphthylamine-(2-azo-1')-benzene, 4, 4'-disulphonic acid, 2-(4'-N, N-dimethylaminostyryl)-quinoline, crystal violet, Xylenol blue, Bromophenol blue, Metaril yellow, thymol phthalein and phenolphthalein. In the examples, the composition is coated on a support, which may be a bi-or trimetallic support, imagewise exposed to produce a coloured positive or negative image and then developed to produce a negative printing plate. The composition may contain a novolak resin, styrene/ maleic acid copolymer or polyvinyl acetate. The developed image may be burned into the support or etched if necessary.</p> |
