A process for preparation of intercalated graphite of acceptor type with high degree of expansion, in which process the graphite is preliminarily mixed with electrolyte by sulfurous acid with concentration of 30-94 % as counting per 0.5-1.0 cm3 of electrolyte for 1 g of graphite, on the surface of anode of electrochemical reactor uniformly distributing the mixture of graphite powder with electrolyte at such amount that ratios of anode surface to the weight of graphite be 0.5-3 cm3/g, on layer ofgraphite powder with electrolyte the porous membrane is set from chemically stable tissue of polypropylene, and on the layer of tissue of polypropylene cathode with load is applied, which provides pressure between 0.5 and 3.5 kPa, thereafter continuous current of density of 1-50 mA/cm2 is passed through graphite, washed and dried.
