<p>Fluid flows upwards from the conical base of the vessel through a dividing floor, holding filter candles, into an upper filtrate section. Raw fluid enters through a fluid inlet pipe (7) and is diverted downwards to a vertical tube (9). The end of the tube is closed but liquid is released through upper and lower perforations (11,12) and in the closing end plate. The tube is reduced in diameter to a further portion (10) to increase the flow rate. The relation between the upper and lower perforations is chosen for optimum performance.</p> |
