A method (M1) for crosslinking a silane-grafted polymer in presence of water and a condensation catalyst, in which the catalyst is a sterically-hindered amine with a mol. wt. of more than 2000 g/mol. Independent claims are also included for (1) a method (M2) for silane-crosslinking a diene polymer by grafting the polymer with a silane by peroxide-assisted radical addition and then crosslinking as described above (2) cables with conductor(s) inside insulator(s), in which at least one insulating layer consists of a polymer crosslinked by M2.
