PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arrangement configuration for a steering gear box capable of securing the safety at collision by eliminating protrusion of a steering column. SOLUTION: The arrangement configuration for the steering gear box is characterized by that the steering gear box 6 is laid over horizontally or accommodated in a recess 3 formed in the lower part of a transmission case 2, wherein the steering gear box 6 is installed overlapping on the transmission case 2 so that the size over the height is compacted, and in the event of head-on collision, the steering gear box 6 accommodated in the recess 3 in the transmission case 2 is allowed to follow up after the behavior of the transmission case 2 quickly and certainly, so that it is possible to eliminate protrusion of the steering column 11 and secure the safety in the event of collision.
