A N-benzyl halide of 3-methoxy-6-azaestra-1,3,5 (10),6,8-pentaen-17b -ol methyl ether of the formula <FORM:1101124/C2/1> wherein X represents a halogen, is obtained from 3-methoxy-6-azaestra-1,3,5(10),6,8-pentaen-17b -ol by known methods, e.g. by refluxing with benzyl halide in an alkanol.
