<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical filter optimum for decoupling in a single mode optical fiber. <P>SOLUTION: A spatial phase filter receives an incident light beam and transmits the light beam to a single mode output fiber, is provided with a spatially variable phase profile adapted to be arranged practically vertically to the propagation direction of the light beam, and is suitable for a spatial phase filter adapted to excite the evanescent mode of the output fiber. In the filter, the phase profile is composed of an adjustment pattern with the phase distribution practically corresponding to a combination of at least one quartile of normal distribution on at least one dimension (301), and of a phase shifting zone support (320) whose range is limited in relation to the incident light beam on at least one dimension. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
