PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an automatic photographing system to perform photographing at appropriate timing even when a plurality of (group) subjects exist. SOLUTION: A photographing unit 10 is constituted of a digital camera 12, an antenna 13 detecting a wireless tag 20 possessed by the subject and communicating with the wireless tag 20, a speaker 14, and a computer 11. The computer 11 receives user ID (identification information) from the wireless tag 20a possessed by a user who enters the photographing range of the digital camera 12, acquires the user ID of other user in the same group from a server 30 based on the received ID, and confirms whether other user exists in the photographing range. When other user exists therein, photographing is started, and when other user does not exist therein, photographing is started after giving a message for calling from the speaker 14 and standing by for a prescribed time.
