PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately transmit the rotation of a reel base to a member to which the rotation should be transmitted. SOLUTION: The recording device has a device body 3 into which an ink cartridge 6 having a take-up roller 7 to take up an ink sheet 62. A reel base 1 engaging with the take-up roller 7 is provided in the device body 3. The reel base 1 is provided with a plurality of ridges 20, 20a and 20b that are expected to engage with the take-up roller 7 on the periphery thereof. The ridges 20, 20a and 20b have tapered surfaces 21, the tips of which are pointed, at the distal ends and slate portions 22 leading to the tapered surfaces 21, the sides of which contact the take-up roller 7. Any one ridge 20, the length Y1 of the slate sections 22 is nearly equal to those of the other ridges 20a and 20b, the length Y2 of the tapered surface 21 following the slate portion 22 is longer than the length Y3 of the tapered surfaces 21 of the other ridges 20a and 20b.
