In a dynamo-electric machine, e.g. turboalternator, gas-cooled rotor having slots in which winding coils are located, each coil comprises a stack of superimposed conductors 2 having extending therethrough in the direction of superposition coolant passages built up from two or more intercommunicating sections composed of radially extending elemental ducts 7 ... 12 of which the numbers in radially adjacent sections are mutually different. Each pair of adjacent sections are interconnected by a communicating passage 6 in an intermediate conductor and the sections may be staggered longitudinally along the rotor axis. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 936,617.
